FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(DALLAS, TX; McKINNEY, TX); October 21, 2020 – The SPCA of Texas has received a $5,000 grant from the ASPCA® (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals®) and Subaru Loves Pets, in partnership with Sewell Subaru of Dallas, to support the adoption of pets from the SPCA of Texas’ Jan Rees-Jones Animal Care Center in Dallas and the Russell H. Perry Animal Care Center in McKinney on October 24, 2020.
This funding will provide the medical care needed to prepare approximately 25-30 animals for adoption, which includes spay/neuter surgeries, microchipping, heartworm tests, routine vaccinations, intestinal parasite dewormer and preventatives and any other medical care needed to ensure they are happy, healthy and ready for their new homes. This grant will cover $200 per animal for these procedures, which greatly offsets costs for the SPCA of Texas.
This adoption event will be held virtually, and adoptions will be done by appointment only. Adoptable pets will be available at SPCA of Texas’ two shelters on an appointment basis. All adoptable pets at the SPCA of Texas can be found at www.spca.org/findapet. Potential adopters may submit an inquiry at www.spca.org/adopt to schedule a time to meet the pet of their choice at either shelter.
The SPCA of Texas is grateful to the ASPCA®, Subaru Loves Pets and Sewell Subaru of Dallas for supporting pet adoptions and making it possible for homeless pets to find loving homes in North Texas.
