KIDS & FAMILIES

Animals + youth = a love affair.

Love animals? Want to get your kids excited about community service? We have volunteer opportunities for youth ages 10+ and their families. See some furry friends, learn about animal welfare and make a difference.

The SPCA of Texas is happy to offer volunteer opportunities for youth ages 10+. Please see below for information on the opportunities for various age groups:

  • VOLUNTEERS AGES 10-14 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who is at least 21 years old at our Jan Rees-Jones Animal Care Center and mobile events.
  • VOLUNTEERS AGES 10-11 cannot handle animals but can assist with shelter support activities (such as preparing activities for pet enrichment, washing animal bedding, working in our dietary area and other important jobs) at our Jan Rees-Jones Animal Care Center and at mobile events.
  • VOLUNTEERS AT PETSMART between 12-17 years old can volunteer with an accompanying parent/guardian who is at least 21 years old.
