Animals + youth = a love affair.

Love animals? Want to get your kids excited about community service? We have volunteer opportunities for youth ages 10+ and their families. See some furry friends, learn about animal welfare and make a difference.

The SPCA of Texas is happy to offer volunteer opportunities for youth ages 10+.

  • VOLUNTEERS AGES 10-14 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
  • VOLUNTEERS AGES 10-11 cannot handle animals but can assist with shelter support activities such as preparing activities for pet enrichment, washing animal bedding and working in our dietary area.
  • VOLUNTEERS AT PETSMART must be 18 years or older.

Examples volunteer activities for kids, teens and families include:

  • Prepping activities for pet enrichment
  • Washing animal bedding
  • Working in our dietary area

If your child is 14 or younger, please complete the form below. The $50 parent/child volunteer fee covers the cost of getting you and your child started as volunteers, including your badges and training. (Certain ZIP codes exempt.)

You will then receive an emailed receipt for your volunteer fee, plus a link to create a volunteer account and submit your application. Once your application is submitted, someone from the SPCA of Texas volunteer team will contact you to get you started!
