ABOUT APOLLO: And the award for "Best in Ears" goes to...Apollo! Apollo came to SPCA of Texas as part of a cruelty case in February 2019. He had a long journey to recovery, but with patience, love, and an awesome foster dad, Apollo has flourished into the goofy, loyal pup you see today!PERSONALITY: Apollo is a very charismatic guy and never forgets his friends. Once he's your bud, he loves you and is even willing to share his snacks or toys with you. LIKES: Apollo loves treats (even vegetables!), sunbathing, belly rubs, chasing squirrels, entertaining himself with toys, watching sports on TV, sleeping in all kinds of silly positions, and cuddling for nap time! SKILLS: Looking for a dog with great house manners? Apollo is house trained, does well when left alone, is non-destructive, knows how to entertain himself, and is a generally quiet and chill dude! IDEAL HOME: Apollo is looking for a home where he can be the only pet in the home - he wants his family all to himself! Apollo's home should have a private, securely fenced backyard. KIDS: I'd like my home to be 13+ and I need to meet kids 13-16 before going home.NOTE: I'm available for foster-to-adopt.Please copy/paste this link to your browser to see more photos/videos of Apollo: https://bit.ly/3AbwJYoAPPOINTMENT TYPE: Scheduled. Please complete an online application if you'd like to meet me!Current Special - Dogs over 6 months are only $25 to adopt!
ABOUT ME: I was rescued by the SPCA of Texas and was a bit weary of new friends at first, but I've always loved other dogs! The behavior staff has been very patient with me and I'm becoming more trusting everyday! I'm a bit of a treat snob and can't wait to get the yummiest ones from my new family!DREAM HOME: I would love a house with a fenced-in yard. I would prefer everyone be over 10 and you can bring the whole family to meet me!DOGS: Me and any future canine siblings in my home can have a play date before we leave, just to make sure we're a good fit!APPOINTMENT TYPE: No appointment needed. Come and meet me any day between 12PM-6PM!Current Special - Dogs over 6 months are only $25 to adopt!
ABOUT ME: Yes, I'm fancy... just like my name! You'll clearly notice my gorgeous blue eyes first - maybe I'm a "designer" dog after all! I came to the SPCA in October of 2019 from a hoarding case along with 42 other animals and I was the largest dog in the bunch! I was pretty shut down when I arrived, but now I've spent over a year in my foster home and have come a long way!PERSONALITY: I am really relaxed, and I love laying on my bed A LOT. I am a bit shy, but being in a foster home has definitely helped me learn how to "dog". My foster parent says that I'm pretty low maintenance and absolutely the sweetest dog - I don't really bark and have fun just laying and chewing on a toy. Whenever I see my favorite humans, I just can't stop wagging my tail in excitement! Although I don't walk on a leash, I go outside to do my business and am completely house trained in my foster home.KIDS: They're adorable, but I require a home with kids over the age of 12. Please bring kids ages 12-17 to meet me!DOGS: Sure, please bring them to meet me! I live with two other dogs in my foster home and appreciate that they give me space and let me do my own thing. A smaller dog or another chill dog like me would be fine or I could be happy soaking up all your attention for myself!CATS: I do well with the kitty in my foster home!HOME NEEDS: I am looking for a calm, quiet household. Also, I'm still working on my leash walking skills, so I'll need a house with a securely fenced-in back yard. I love to sun bathe!SPECIAL NOTE: Potential adopters get to take me out for a trial adoption to make sure we're a perfect fit! The SPCA of Texas will provide all medical and behavioral support to ensure a smooth transition.COPY/PASTE this link into your browser for more pictures of me: https://bit.ly/3jCI7pVCurrent Special - Dogs over 6 months are only $25 to adopt! We also have Seniors for Seniors - If you are 65 or older and adopt a dog or cat over the age of 7 years, the adoption is free!
About Me: Hi there, my name is Cona and I came to the SPCA of Texas in October of 2019 with 42 of my Chihuahua-type friends and some chickens! I struggled with skin issues for a long time and that's finally settled, although I may look naked for a long time... maybe always? The next hurdle is losing some of this weight! I've spent time in a foster home and I occasionally ask them for pets or snuggles - it's always on my terms. Otherwise, I'm a really low maintenance and easy dog. I never bark, do fine when left alone, and go to the bathroom outside or will use pee pads if available. I love to sunbathe even though that means my foster parents have to spray doggy sunscreen on me first - yuck!HOME NEEDS: I need a calm, quiet home with a securely fenced yard. I'm still working on getting comfortable on leash and loud sounds make me nervous.DOGS: While I'm not a dog that actively tries to engage other dogs, I can peacefully coexist with calm doggos.KIDS: Adults Only, please.NOTE: I'm available for foster-to-adopt,so that the SPCA of Texas can provide medical and behavior support while I settle into a new home!COPY/PASTE for more cute pictures/videos of me: https://bit.ly/3wC66KlAPPOINTMENT TYPE: Scheduled. ABOUT ME: My name is Rhino! I am a staff favorite. I am a super duper fun boy that loves exploring and playing. I am very smart so be ready to show me anything because learning is just plain fun!FOSTER TESTIMONIAL: He is so loving and playful, like a child. He loves snuggling and will lay on you if you ask. It's so fun to see him do zoomies around the yard and he loves hanging out with everyone outside and playing fetch. He is also incredibly smart - we have taught him 5 tricks so far including rollover! The others are sit, stay, down, off, crate, and paw.MY DREAM HOME: I'd love a house with a yard so that I have a way to get my energy out, but I've been living in an apartment with my fosters and am doing great! Having another playful pup in the home who is similar in size would be awesome too!KIDS: Nah, I am all the excitement you will need!To view more photos and videos of me, copy/paste the following URL into your browser: https://bit.ly/30P1VxHSPECIAL NOTE: Potential adopters get to take me on a test drive through foster to adopt! ABOUT HILARY: Got a farm? A menagerie? Hilary would fit right in! Hilary currently lives in a foster home with dogs, cats, and even a pig! She gets along with everyone and matches her energy to the dogs around her - sometimes playful, but also happy to just hang out together. Hilary is smaller than she looks and weighs about 40 lbs.PERSONALITY: Hilary is more of an independent gal, but will come up for love or chin scratches from time to time. She's laid back, crate trained, quiet, non-destructive, and does just fine when left alone. With a routine and other dogs to follow, she's pretty well house trained. HOUSING: Hilary would love a calm, quiet environment in a house with a securely fenced yard; however, some low traffic apartments with easy access to designated walking areas may be considered.DOGS: Yes please! Having another friendly dog in the home is a requirement to help Hilary acclimate, grow, and thrive. CATS: No problem! Hilary ignores cats in her foster home. KIDS: Kids 12+ please! Please bring the whole family to meet her.COPY/PASTE this link into your browser for more photos: https://bit.ly/3mO3vJOAPPOINTMENT TYPE: I am in a foster home so please complete an online application if you'd like to meet me!Current Special - Dogs over 6 months are only $25 to adopt! We also have Seniors for Seniors - If you are 65 or older and adopt a dog or cat over the age of 7 years, the adoption is free!
ABOUT ME: Handsome? Oh, why yes I am! I can hang with other dogs just fine, but new humans and situations can be kind of scary. So please just go slow at first then I will show you my zoomies!PERSONALITY: I'm a low-key dog who just wants a quiet home where I can chill and sleep in my crate and a backyard where I can be on squirrel patrol. I give little nose boops to let you know when I'm ready for some petting and love.MY HOME: I'm looking for a home with a privately fenced yard to call my own! I also really love the ladies, so it would be nice to have a 'mom' too. KIDS: I'm looking for a home with humans 15 and older please! DOGS: If your dog is as laid back as me, bring them to meet me so we can be sure that we're compatible. I've lived with other dogs in foster homes and we got along well.SPECIAL NOTE: Eligible adopters get to take me on a test drive through a trial adoption! The SPCA of Texas will provide all behavior and medical support while I adjust to my new home. ABOUT SHAYLA: When she sees her friends, Shayla is all wiggles! She has the best smile and when happy, her big tongue hangs out to the side with her ear-to-ear grin. Once comfortable with a person, Shayla leans in for petting and will even curl up in their lap! At only 35 pounds, she's a petite medium-sized dog and the perfect size for cuddles. Shayla has had a hard time adjusting to shelter life - and who can blame her? Being in a kennel was scary for her. But with time and help from SPCA staff, Shayla has learned that new people aren't so scary and that she's safe with us. She loves treats and that can go a long way in becoming the best of friends! IDEAL HOME: Shayla will require either a single-family home with a securely fenced yard or a low-traffic, first floor apartment. She will need a calm and quiet environment. Shayla would like to meet all household members before going home. Since strangers can be scary to her, she may need to meet potential adopters more than once to feel comfortable. KIDS: Ages 15 years and up, please! DOGS: No, thank you! Shayla is aloof with other dogs when initially meeting them, but once in a home she wants the humans all to herself. SPECIAL NOTE: You'll get to take Shayla on a test run before making it official! The SPCA of Texas will provide all medical and behavior support during her trial adoption to help ensure a successful transition into her new home. She is also available for foster if you'd like to help Shayla on her journey to find a forever home.APPOINTMENT TYPE: Scheduled- please fill out an online application to meet me!Copy/paste the following link into your browser to see more photos of Shayla: https://bit.ly/3xaAAEH
