Meet Jones, a beautiful 5-month-old Malinois puppy with a big heart and even bigger energy! As a young Malinois, she is incredibly smart, active, and eager to learn. Right now, the shelter environment simply isn’t meeting her needs, and she’s desperately looking for a foster home where she can relax and be a puppy.
In a home setting, Jones has done well with a toddler and has been friendly with both familiar and unfamiliar people. She loves attention and wants to be involved in everything her people are doing!
The shelter has been tough on Jones. Like many young, high-energy puppies, she’s showing frustration and over-arousal that comes out as jumpy, mouthy behavior. This is attention-seeking and excitement-driven behavior, not aggression, and she would greatly benefit from a home environment with consistent redirection, structure, and appropriate outlets such as toys, chews, training activities, and exercise.
Jones is truly just a young dog who needs a chance to get out of the shelter and into a home where she can thrive. Every day in the kennel becomes harder for an energetic puppy like her.
If you can help Jones decompress and give her the opportunity to be the amazing dog she’s meant to be, please email foster@spca.org as soon as possible.
