Meet Javier, a 3-year-old, 14-pound little guy who needs a patient foster home to help him discover that the world isn’t such a scary place.
Right now, Javier is overwhelmed by the shelter environment. He can be flighty and avoidant and may growl when approached because he’s unsure and frightened. Despite his fear, he has shown glimpses of wanting connection, choosing to sit in the laps of some handlers, even if he’s still a bit tense. Most of his time is spent sleeping in his crate, trying to make himself small in a busy and stressful environment.
What Javier needs most is time, patience, and kindness. He needs a foster home where he can learn to trust people, build confidence, and simply learn how to be a dog. Underneath his fearful exterior is a little dog who is looking for safety and someone willing to show him love at his own pace.
The shelter is not the place where Javier can truly blossom. He needs a calm home where he can decompress and begin his journey toward feeling secure and loved.
