Meet Murphy, an 8-year-old sweetheart who is looking for a soft place to land.
Murphy was in a loving home since 2018, but through no fault of her own, she has found herself back in our care. Her previous family describes her as a sweet, gentle girl who can be a little shy at first. She knows sit and paw, loves earning treats, and absolutely lights up when you tell her she’s a good girl.
She’s also potty trained and will politely sit by or sniff at the door when she needs to go outside. Murphy is happiest in the comfort of a home, where she can relax and feel safe.
Unfortunately, the shelter has been incredibly stressful for her. Murphy is frightened by storms and boarding environments, and the stress of being back in a kennel has caused her to become very anxious. She’s constantly panting and struggling to settle down. It’s heartbreaking to watch because we know this isn’t who she truly is.
Murphy doesn’t belong in a kennel—she belongs on a cozy bed, surrounded by kindness and reassurance.
If you can open your home to this deserving senior girl, even temporarily, please email foster@spca.org. A foster home could make all the difference for Murphy while she waits for her forever family.
Please share to help Murphy find the quiet, loving home she deserves.
