FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(DALLAS, TX; McKINNEY, TX; WAXAHACHIE, TX); December 2, 2020– The holidays are here and North Texas animal shelters are asking people to help brighten the season for the thousands of shelter animals in North Texas. The SPCA of Texas is teaming up with Dallas Animal Services, the Humane Society of North Texas, Irving Animal Services and Fort Worth Animal Care & Control to bring in donations for homeless pets in need this holiday season. The Comfort and Joy Donation Drive will be held from December 1, 2020 to January 2, 2021.
During the Comfort and Joy Donation Drive, shelters are requesting blankets, toys, treats and canned food for animals who need extra nutrition. The SPCA of Texas is in most need of dogs toys to keep their pups happy during the holidays and all-year-round.
“The holidays are a wonderful time of giving for families, and we hope that people will think of making our pets’ holiday wishes come true by donating the much-needed supplies they need to keep them happy while they wait for their forever homes,” said Karen Froehlich, President and CEO for the SPCA of Texas. “Just like people, our animals would love to have some new toys to play with and a warm blanket to cuddle in as the weather gets colder.”
Giving is easy. The SPCA of Texas’ Wish List can be found online at www.spca.org/wishlist. Donations to the SPCA of Texas can be brought to the following locations:
Donations can also be made to any participating animal shelter in the north Texas area. Needed items include:
