The Community Pet Program is dedicated to helping underserved residents in our community keep their pets in their homes, off the streets and out of the shelters by providing subsidized or free spay/neuter surgeries and other vital services and resources.
As part of generous grants from the W.W. Caruth, Jr. Fund and a coalition of local private foundations, our Community Pet Program team has partnered with Duck Team 6 to build a number of dog runs for pet owners who are otherwise unable to build or repair their own fences to keep their dogs contained.
To date, we’ve been able to set 29 dogs free of their chains! This project is so important to our community members who want to be able to give their dogs the care they deserve, but need a little extra help to do so.
While the grant that funded this project is nearing its end, we are so happy that we were able to give so many dogs a safe and secure space to rest and play and make southern Dallas a safer community.
