Staff Spotlight: Dr. Jessica Boden, Mobile Wellness Veterinarian

Dr. Jessica Boden is our Mobile Wellness Veterinarian. She and her team provide mobile veterinary care to underserved pets in and around South Dallas. We asked Dr. Boden a few questions about herself so we could all get to know her better!

What are your passions/interests/hobbies?

I love reading! I enjoy going to the Dallas Public Library to pick up a new book. I am passionate about making people feel known.

Do you have a favorite animal under our care right now?

Little Mamma is so sweet and I look forward to whenever she finds her forever home. Our home is full right now, otherwise, I would love to take her myself.

How did you get into animal welfare?

As a veterinarian, my main goal has always been to advocate and care for animals to the best of my ability. At times my heart hurts for those pets who have been neglected and unloved until they come into our care. I decided that I wanted to become a veterinarian when I was in middle school. I grew up on a farm in Iowa and loved taking care of all of my animals. I always knew veterinarians existed but one day I thought to myself that I would like to do that as a job. Ever since then, I pursued that dream until it became a reality. After working in a few different positions at a small animal clinic and then in animal hospice, I am now grateful to be a part of the SPCA of Texas!
