If any dogs test positive for Canine Distemper Virus (CDV) at the shelter, we are immediately isolating them at our medical teams counsel and attempting to get them into a foster home. Since distemper positive dogs can shed the virus to other dogs for up to 3 months, they need to be isolated for that entire period or they pose a risk to other dogs at the shelter.

Looking for a way to give back while building camaraderie with your staff? Take a page out of Target’s book and sign your work team up for our Group Experience Program!
Last month, Target shared the love with our animals by sending one of their store’s teams to our Russell E. Dealey Animal Rescue Center to participate in our Group Experience Program. These awesome employees volunteered for the day assembling crates for our Animal Cruelty and Investigations unit.
The Group Experience program is an excellent way for corporate teams to give back to the community while bonding through service and teamwork. You and your team will be able to volunteer at one of our locations tackling a major task or fun activity. If you are interested in our Group Experience Program, please email Ashley Henderson at firstname.lastname@example.org.
