Hi, I’m Jamie, a 3-year-old boy who’s having a really hard time adjusting to shelter life.
Everything about this environment feels overwhelming to me, and I’m very fearful. I often hide under my cot, stay on high alert, and spend my time looking for a way to escape instead of relaxing. The shelter is simply too stressful for me, making it difficult to show who I really am.
While people can be scary right now, I do find comfort in other dogs. I does especially well with my canine friend, Fire, and having a confident dog around helps me feel a little braver. I would thrive in a calm, patient foster home where I can learn that the world isn’t so frightening. A friendly, well-adjusted resident dog would be a huge bonus and could help teach me how to be a dog again—how to play, relax, trust, and enjoy life.
I may not be the dog who runs up for cuddles on day one, but with time, patience, and a quiet place to decompress, I have so much potential. Right now, I just need someone willing to give me that chance.
Could you be the person to help me discover what it feels like to be safe?
