Delta is a 4-year-old female German Shepherd who urgently needs a calm, understanding foster home to help her decompress and learn that the world can be safe and loving again. She came to us through a case with a difficult start to life, and she is now ready for the next step—stability, patience, and gentle support.
In kennel, Delta can be very vocal and reactive at the front, with tense body language and jumping at the door. However, once she has a moment to settle and a handler enters calmly, she quickly softens. She becomes engaged, comes forward for attention, and will solicit pets and treats with a loose body, wagging tail, and neutral ears.
In the yard, Delta shows much more neutral, appropriate behavior. She explores independently, doesn’t seek out play with other dogs, but displays positive body language and will give appropriate corrections if needed. During fence greetings she remains mostly neutral with a low tail wag and relaxed posture.
Delta is not a “finished product”—she is a dog who needs a foster willing to go at her pace, provide structure, and help her build confidence in a home environment. Even a short-term foster placement would make a meaningful difference in her progress and well-being.
