Every week, we’ll be featuring a long-term resident that needs your help to find a home! This week, we want to introduce you to Scooter.
Back in April 2019, Scooter was surrendered to our Animal Cruelty Investigations unit. The first hurdle this pup had to overcome was his physical condition – some of his teeth were broken and he had two different types of worms and skin issues. As is the case with many of the animals that come to us from cruelty or neglect cases, Scooter was fearful and untrusting of humans.
Thanks to months of work with our behavior specialists, animal care staff and volunteers, Scooter is a much different dog today. We’re not sure what breeds make up his mix, but we think he has a little bit of pug, because of his sense of humor and silliness, and a little bit of retriever, because of his love for playing with humans and dogs alike. He’s a goofy pup who loves attention and has become more confident during his time here.
Scooter would love a home with a backyard where he can feel safe to play and be silly. If you have kids or dogs at home, Scooter would love to meet them so he can see if they will be best buddies! He is available for adoption at the Jan Rees-Jones Animal Care Center in Dallas.
