DALLAS – The SPCA of Texas will celebrate the 20th anniversary of Strut Your Mutt, The Race to End Animal Cruelty, which features a 3K fun walk, Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Fair Park (3809 Grand Avenue, Dallas, 75210). Day of Event registration begins at 7 a.m. at Big Tex Circle, with the walk starting at 8 a.m. Registration is open online now at gostrut.org.
“We have a great committee that is full of energy and creative ideas,” said Strut Your Mutt Chair and longtime volunteer Stephen Enda. “I’m thrilled to work alongside them to make this the best Strut Your Mutt event ever!”
Early registrants can take advantage of a buy-one-get-one-free offer, featuring two registrations for the price of one. This special is available through Saturday, February 1, and the discount will be automatically applied at checkout.
“Strut Your Mutt is a fun, family event, and also raises much-needed dollars that allow the SPCA of Texas to care for abused animals by rehabilitating and reintroducing them to society as adoptable pets,” said SPCA of Texas President & CEO Chris Luna, JD. “Last year, our Animal Cruelty Investigations Unit rescued 918 animals from the 525 cruelty cases that they investigated in North Texas. Once rescued and in our care, these precious future pets are examined and treated by our dedicated medical and behavioral care teams.
“We are excited to be hosting our 20th annual Strut Your Mutt walk, which has grown each year to an event North Texans look forward to each Spring. So many participants bring their dogs to walk with them, some in baby carriages and wagons. And, we will have some adoptable pups at the , as well.”
Registration cost for the 3K walk is $35; kids age 11 and under are free. Participants can register individually or as a team at gostrut.org, and will receive a goody bag filled with a Strut T-shirt, pet bandana, dog toy and dog treats. Once a team is registered and given a memorable name, strutters can set up a fundraising goal, recruit team members and build team spirit through their team page.
Participants are encouraged to bring their furry friends to walk along with them. Food trucks will be on site along with other festivities and fun like our Bow Wow Bazaar featuring a variety of vendors that cater to animals and their humans. The Bazaar runs from 8 to 11 a.m. in the Fair Park Tower building.
Strutters can go the extra mile and recruit friends and family to donate in honor of themselves, their pets, and the animals rescued from cruelty, helping the SPCA of Texas during these challenging times. Community support is crucial as the SPCA of Texas works to end animal cruelty. Registrants can further assist by joining individual and corporate fundraising challenges to win exciting prizes, with awards given to top fundraisers. Donations for Strut Your Mutt, the Race to End Animal Cruelty, will be accepted through Friday, May 30, 2025.
