Animal focused volunteer activities include walking and playing with animals, assisting with dog playgroups, reading to animals, photo/video of animals, bathing and grooming, fostering, Borrow A Buddy and more. We have so many great options to help shelter animals grow, learn and have fun while they await their new home.
The SPCA of Texas is here for pets and their people, and we have lots of volunteer roles that interact with the animal-loving public. Community focused volunteer opportunities include adoption counseling, mobile adoptions, pet pantries, vaccination events, job/volunteer fairs, client follow up and group experience support.
Volunteers truly provide behind-the-scenes power for the entire SPCA of Texas. Volunteer opportunities include laundry, cleaning, enrichment building, inventory management, sewing, data entry and deliveries/drop offs. Roles can be one-time or an ongoing volunteer leadership opportunity.
Volunteers in our Foster program provide animals with a comfortable, loving home while they await adoption, recover from medical procedures, grow from an infant to an adoptable age, or live their remaining days knowing love and support.
Our Group Experience Program is thoughtfully tailored to provide an enriching experience for your group members. You will have the opportunity to give back to the community while learning about the lifesaving work done at SPCA of Texas.
The SPCA of Texas offers age-appropriate volunteer opportunities for youth ages of 10 through 17, and families are welcome to volunteer their time together. We request that volunteers under the age of 15 bring a parent or guardian who is at least 21 years old to all volunteer shifts.
This group of emerging young leaders supports our mission through fundraising, volunteer and social opportunities. Enjoy exclusive volunteer opportunities, networking and special events.
Individuals age 10+ can fulfill their Court-Appointed Community Service (CCS) hours related to non-violent crimes such as basic traffic tickets and some minor alcohol and drug-related charges. Then we hope you’ll stay as a volunteer!
If you are in need of court-appointed community service, please visit spca.org/support-us/volunteer/court-ordered-service/ to pay the associated fee and we will email you the application. Thank you!
