DALLAS, TX (January 30, 2025) — The SPCA of Texas is proud to announce the launch of its LGBTQ+ Advisory Council, a strategic initiative to strengthen ties with North Texas’ LGBTQ+ community and allies and foster inclusivity in its mission to provide care and services to pets and their people. This milestone builds upon the organization’s history of championing diversity and community involvement.
“The SPCA of Texas has long valued the diversity that makes North Texas such a dynamic place to live, work, and play,” said Chris Luna, JD, President & CEO of the SPCA of Texas. “The LGBTQ+ community has been a longtime supporter of the SPCA of Texas through adoptions and donations. With the launch of our LGBTQ+ Advisory Council, we’re deepening our commitment to inclusivity by seeking guidance from community leaders to better serve all residents and their pets.”
The SPCA of Texas has a history of celebrating diversity, exemplified by its recognition in the Dallas Voice as the “Best Place to Adopt a Pet” for over ten years, and its enthusiastic participation in the annual Dallas Pride Parade. These milestones underscore the organization’s ongoing efforts to welcome and celebrate all members of the community.
