The SPCA of Texas announces the 1st annual Strut Your Mutt, The Race to End Animal Cruelty, a 3K fun walk, will be Saturday, May 13, 2023, at Getzendaner Memorial Park (400 S Grand Ave, Waxahachie, TX 75165). Day of Event registration begins at 8 a.m. and the walk starts at 9 a.m.
“We are excited to bring our Strut Your Mutt event to Ellis County,” said SPCA of Texas President & CEO Karen Froehlich, CAWA. “This walk draws important attention to the challenging subject of animal abuse in North Texas and funds raised will be used to support the work of our Animal Cruelty Investigations Unit and the veterinary care services our medical teams provide to animals rescued out of abuse situations.”
Registration cost for the 3K walk is $35; kids age 11 and under are free. Participants can register individually or as a team at gostrut.org, and will receive a goody bag filled with a Strut T-shirt, pet bandana, dog toy and dog treats. An Early Bird Special—$5 off registration—runs Jan. 23 – 26, 2023.
Participants are welcome to bring their furry friends to strut along with them. A Kid’s Corral and Post PAWty will bring fun for kids and adults alike. The Race to End Cruelty also features the Bow Wow Bazaar—vendors catering to animals and their humans. The Bazaar runs from 9 to noon in the park.
