FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
SPCA of Texas’ 15th Annual Strut Your Mutt, the Race to End Animal Cruelty, is Going Virtual!
(DALLAS, TX; September 25, 2020) – The SPCA of Texas has announced that the 15th Annual Strut Your Mutt, the Race to End Animal Cruelty, presented by Hill’s Pet Nutrition and VCA Animal Hospitals, set for Sunday, November 8, 2020 is now going fully virtual due to safety concerns with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. People are encouraged register, form teams and raise funds to end animal cruelty, as the SPCA of Texas needs the support of the community now more than ever during these challenging times.
Previously rescheduled from Saturday, May 9, Strut 2020 the new virtual event includes an option to participate and fundraise virtually! Strutters who registered earlier this year will receive a commemorative Strut Your Mutt T-shirt. Registrations for the all-new virtual option will be able to choose whether or not they’d like to receive a T-shirt. Registration with a T-shirt is $35 and without a T-shirt is $25. Runners who previously registered for the 5K will receive a tech shirt with their registration! Virtual race registration also includes a swag bag full of goodies that will be available for pick up closer to the day of the event.
Participants can join the SPCA of Texas virtually, from the safety of their homes, a walking path or a favorite trail…with their best canine friends by their side, of course!
The goal of Strut Your Mutt is to raise awareness about animal cruelty in North Texas. The SPCA of Texas’ Animal Cruelty Investigations Unit rescues more than 2,500 animals from cruelty each year, many resulting in criminal convictions in multiple North Texas counties. This critical work continues, even amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. The SPCA of Texas hopes to continue to positively impact this issue with the ongoing support of the community.
All registrants can do even more help the SPCA of Texas raise funds for its critical work supporting our community’s most vulnerable pets and their people by participating in the individual and corporate fundraising challenges for cool prizes. Top fundraising challenge prizes will be awarded to participants who collect the most pledges. Donations may be made for Strut Your Mutt through November 31.
For even more fun, virtual participants can check out our virtual Bow-Wow-Bazaar and Meow Market at gostrut.org to check out special info and more from our sponsors and virtual vendors!
