(DALLAS, TX; July 28, 2020) – The SPCA of Texas announced it has been awarded an $18,000 grant from the Petco Foundation to support the lifesaving efforts of its newly-acquired SPCA of Texas’ Ellis County Animal Care Center.
The Petco Foundation investment will help to make facility improvements including: new flooring, HVAC system, electrical system and kennel system at the facility so that animals receive the care and treatment they need to become healthy and adoptable.
“The SPCA of Texas’ mission is to provide every pet exceptional care and a loving home, and we have been a key component of the health, safety and happiness of North Texas’ pets and their people for over 80 years,” said Karen Froehlich, President and CEO for the SPCA of Texas. “Our organization is looking forward to partnering with the Petco Foundation to provide lifesaving services for the pets of Ellis County.”
This grant investment is part of the Petco Foundation’s recent distribution of more than $13M to animal welfare organizations nationwide. In addition, the Petco Foundation distributed $1M in emergency product and cash donations to partner organizations facing the challenges of the COVID-19 crisis and put out a national call to mobilize animal lovers to take action and Pledge to Save Pet Lives.
