“DFW Pets Are Family Day” will be This Saturday Morning, March 8th, at Gilbreath-Reed Career and Technical Center in Garland
Rain or Shine
DALLAS–With support from CUDDLY®, a mission-driven company centered around the needs of rescued animals and the community focused programs that sustain them, numerous Texas-based nonprofit organizations are coming together to offer free pet food, vaccines, microchips and more to pet families in Dallas. DFW Pets Are Family Day anticipates distributing thousands of pounds of dog and cat food and to providing vaccines and microchips to hundreds of family pets during what will be the 11th community outreach event.
DFW Pets Are Family Day will be Saturday, March 8, 2025, from 8 a.m. to Noon at Gilbreath-Reed Career and Technical Center (4885 N President George Bush Hwy, Garland, TX 75040), rain or shine.
“By working together, we’re ensuring pets in our community receive the care they deserve,” said City of Garland Director of Animal Services Arturo Munoz. “By providing free vaccines, microchips, and pet food, we are helping families keep their pets healthy, safe, and at home where they belong.”
Despite the critical need, DFW Pets Are Family events are not funded through any government initiative. They are made possible entirely through the willingness of the participating organizations and the generosity of donors who care about pets and their families. The public can help keep pets in their loving homes by supporting DFW Pets Are Family via this campaign wishlist for the event. Pet food donations will be matched, DOUBLING the goodness spread to dogs and cats in need. The window for donations is short, with the most urgent need right now to ensure all supplies arrive in time for distribution.
“The need for community support is greater than ever,” said Dallas Pets Alive! VP of Animal Operations Sarah McGoldrick. “Dallas Pets Alive! is committed to helping both ends of the leash, and collaboration with other organizations is essential to providing this vital support.”
Vaccines and microchips for the March event are being provided by Petco Love and Banfield Foundation.
“People are really struggling right now to provide for their pets and we are seeing requests for help sky-rocketing,” said Spay Neuter Network Executive Director Jordan Craig. “We all can do more to support them when we work together.”
Partner organizations, Dallas Pets Alive!, The Love Pit, Operation Kindness, SPCA of Texas and Spay Neuter Network work closely with CUDDLY—the only wish list platform dedicated exclusively to the needs of animals and a partner in these events since their inception—to ensure items are collected to meet the needs of our communities.
Event partners: Dallas Animal Services; Dallas Pets Alive!; Garland Animal Services; GoodPup; Humane Society of Dallas County; and volunteer support from corporate partners.
