Respect Your Cat Day (A Note To Lesser Beings)

Today is a very important day. Today is Respect Your Cat Day, which really should be every day of the year, but that is a discussion for another time.

Today is a great day to ask yourself, “What am I doing to demonstrate respect for my cat?” Chances are, according to your cat, whatever you are doing is probably inadequate. Cats are the most majestic creatures to ever exist and, quite frankly, we are not worthy of their affection.

Thankfully, cats are benevolent beings who occasionally deign to accept a human devotee that they allow to feed, groom, and massage them. If you are one such human, take an extra moment today to tell your cat how much they mean to you. Make yourself a tuna sandwich and let them lick the can. Arrange some blankets in a pleasing way on a nice window ledge so they can observe their kingdom while basking in the sun.

Whatever you do to demonstrate your affection and respect for your cat today, just remember to look for opportunities every day to make your cat’s life just a little happier.
