Staff Spotlight: Ashley Henderson, Corporate Engagement Coordinator
Ashley Henderson is our Corporate Engagement Coordinator. She in charge of all special event volunteers as well as our Group Experience Program. This program allows companies and organizations to volunteer as a team while educating them about the life-saving work that the SPCA of Texas performs daily. As a member of the Special Events team, she also assists with any tasks that are needed for our fundraising events.
We asked Ashley a few questions about herself so we could all get to know her better!
“How did you get into animal welfare?”
I worked at a doggy day care back in California, and when I moved to Texas I knew I wanted to still work with animals, but in a way that I could make a difference. I admired what the SPCA of Texas was doing and their mission and knew that was something that I wanted to be a part of.
“What is the best thing about working at the SPCA of Texas?”
I love getting to work with people that are all here for a mutual reason: to help the animals. My position allows me to share my passion for this organization and our mission with companies and volunteers and I love seeing them get excited about getting involved. Getting to see the faces of the animals that we all work to help on a daily basis is an added bonus!
“What is your favorite story of an animal you cared for?”
I first started at the SPCA of Texas in 2015 as an Adoption Counselor and I can think of so many animals that made an impact on me. One dog in particular, Boomer, will always have a special place in my heart. He was very picky with his friends, but seeing how excited he got every time I walked into his adoption pod was the best part of my day!
