At the SPCA of Texas, we have a beloved group of donors that are part of our Legacy Society. Not everyone has heard of this elite group, so we wanted to clue you in with some frequently asked questions below!
What is the SPCA of Texas Legacy Society?
The SPCA of Texas Legacy Society was formed in 2016 as a way to recognize those who have included the SPCA of Texas in their wills and estate plans. These future gifts will provide much needed resources to support our mission far into the future. This means we will be able to give homeless animals a second chance at a happy life, for years to come.
What happens if I don’t have anyone to care for my pet and it outlives me?
No matter the size, when you leave a legacy to the SPCA of Texas (meaning you have included the SPCA of Texas in your will) we can assume ownership of pets that may outlive you, if you so choose. Whether or not your pet was adopted from us, your pet will be lovingly cared for by a foster family, until we find his or her new, loving home.
What specific information do I need to include the SPCA of Texas in my will?
Most attorneys will want to confirm our name, address and our federal tax ID: 75-1216660. You can find this information on our website here: https://spca.org/bequests or you can contact us at legacy@spca.org or call 214-461-1829 to discuss any questions you may have.
What are some of the other ways I can leave a gift to the SPCA of Texas, besides a will?
Below are several other options to leave a future gift to the SPCA of Texas.
Are there benefits for being a Legacy Society member?
Yes!
Is there a minimum amount I can leave in my will or estate plan?
There is no minimum. No matter the size, you are leaving a loving and lasting impression on the lives of homeless animals for years to come, and it is much appreciated.
