Graduating is not a given: you worked hard to get here! We are so excited for what the future holds for all of you, and we can’t wait to see how you continue to make an impact on your community and the world. The hours you have dedicated to the animals at the SPCA of Texas have helped change lives, and we are confident that you will continue to shine wherever you go. Your generosity and your devotion to animals has value beyond words. We have nothing but the highest hopes for all of you as you go out into the world and strive to make it a better place for creatures large and small.

One graduate we’d like to feature is SPCA of Texas Foster Hero Rachel! At just 18 years old, she was one of the first people to sign up to foster an animal while staying safe at home during COVID-19. She took home one of our shy/fearful dogs, Kaleo, who came from a cruelty case and had never lived in a home before. She’s been an excellent foster to Kaleo and even recently dropped off a box of donations from our wish list for the animals still at our shelters. 

“I graduated high school yesterday at Texas Motor Speedway, and the dogs got to enjoy it at home! Treasure (right) was rescued when I was in kindergarten… so she has a cap to graduate with me! Foster pup Kaleo (left) experienced online learning with me, and gave me all the tail wags I needed to keep going! Kaleo got to experience graduation! We love his fluffy tail and cute personality! 👩‍🎓💕 #dogclassof2020

Kaleo recently finished his heartworm treatment and will soon be available for adoption. Thanks to Rachel, he has the experience he needs to succeed in his forever home.
