Mary Ann is a beautiful dog who came to the SPCA with her puppies. She seems to do well when she’s in a foster home, but has trouble adjusting to the shelter. It can take her awhile to warm up and be comfortable, but once she does, she’s a wonderful dog. It would be good for her new foster to be prepared to let Mary Ann guide the interactions, not forcing her to connect. She needs a securely fenced yard because she’s still getting comfortable walking on a leash. If you have a confident dog at home, that may be really helpful to Mary Ann – they can show her the ropes and let her know that things aren’t scary. She’d also do best with children over 12 because little kids can move a bit fast.
If Mary Ann can stay with you, email foster@spca.org.
