What could be better than snuggling a teeny, tiny baby kitten?
Well, if you’re one of our kitten fosters, your answer is: nothing!
Our kitten fosters eagerly await their first litter of kittens each spring. Inevitably, orphaned kittens are brought to our shelter (read: Don’t Kit-Nap!) and we always need trained fosters to care for them.
It takes a special type of person to foster kittens. These helpless little balls of fluff rely on their foster parents to bottle feed them every few hours, clean them and keep them warm. As you might expect, these kittens are very fragile and require constant monitoring.
Fostering kittens isn’t easy, but the experience is so rewarding. It’s great to team up with a friend or family member so you can switch “shifts” of kitten watching – you need to sleep sometime, don’t you?
If you think you might be up to the task of fostering kittens, we invite you to check out the Community-Wide Kitten Shower, hosted by several organizations in north Texas – including the SPCA of Texas! The event will take place at numerous locations across the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex on Sunday, March 24 from 1 pm – 3pm.
