Sweet Eliza was found as an underweight stray in late April 2022. She has put on some much needed weight and is awaiting heartworm treatment.
She is sweet and gentle with her human pals but can be nervous and potentially growly with other dogs. We can facilitate a meet and greet with other dogs in the home, but she might do best as an only dog.
While Eliza’s PCR test result was NEGATIVE, her antibody count was low. This makes her extra susceptible to contracting the distemper virus. We’d love to get her into a home where she can be safely isolated to ensure she does not contract distemper while in the shelter environment.
