A Closer Look: CJ
This week we want to give you a closer look at CJ, courtesy of our friends over at ReadingGlasses.com! Clearly, this long-term resident hasn’t found their forever home yet because the right person just hasn’t laid eyes on them yet!
CJ came to the SPCA of Texas through a cruelty case in February of this year. He was very fearful when he first came to us, but with training from our behavior team and some time in a foster home, CJ is much better at socializing with humans. He still has a ways to go and he can be a bit of a ‘fraidy cat sometimes, so he’ll need a patient adopter who will help him overcome his fears.
CJ is a funny, curious boy who loves exploring and playing with toys. In his foster home, he loved to follow his favorite human around the house and be right by their side. He did completely hog the big bed at night, so he might do best in his own doggie bed – unless you have a king size bed to accommodate his needs!
Despite having never lived in a home until his first foster home, CJ knows more tricks than your average house pet! This super smart pup knows sit, stay, come and down! His leash walking skills have greatly improved, but he’ll need more practice with both that and potty training.
In his forever home, CJ will require a fenced-in yard and a doggie sibling. CJ l-o-v-e-s other dogs and his true personality only really comes out when he’s got a doggie buddy by his side. He would love a confident doggie sibling or two (or three, the more the merrier!) to teach him to be brave.
CJ is neutered and up-to-date on all vaccinations. To request an appointment to meet CJ, please visit spca.org/adopt.
