If any dogs test positive for Canine Distemper Virus (CDV) at the shelter, we are immediately isolating them at our medical teams counsel and attempting to get them into a foster home. Since distemper positive dogs can shed the virus to other dogs for up to 3 months, they need to be isolated for that entire period or they pose a risk to other dogs at the shelter.

It’s with a happy heart we announce our 3rd Annual PALentine’s Day Adoption Event!
For the past few years in an effort to help some of our most overlooked foster dogs find forever homes, we invited the public to come to the shelter for a speed dating type of adoption event. This year, due to COVID-19 we’re going virtual – but don’t worry, we’re planning on making the event just as personal and heartwarming as it’s been in years past! The goal is still the same: we want to introduce you to some truly remarkable dogs through testimonials, video spotlights, and “one-on-one” connections.
This year’s event is bought to you by our friends, 102.9 NOW, and it’ll be February 8-12. To stay up-to-date on all things PALentine’s be sure to like and follow our Facebook event page.
