Leaving on a Jet Plane

North Texas animals might not fit in Santa’s sleigh, but they are making their way to new loving families via plane and long-distance drives! While North Texas is experiencing pet overpopulation, other parts of the country have more adopters looking for furry family members than they have available dogs and cats to adopt.

Thanks to a partnership with the ASPCA and other approved rescue partners, 888 dogs and cats from the SPCA of Texas have transported to the northeast and upper Midwest where they are adopted into loving families through partner rescue organizations. All the selected animals receive vaccinations and a clean bill of health before being selected for the transfer program.

The Rescue Partner Network connects SPCA of Texas pets to rescues and private organizations all across the country. These partnership efforts are crucial to our lifesaving efforts.
