It’s that time of the year again, and newborn kittens are coming out of the woodwork.
At the SPCA of Texas, we do everything we can to care for all the animals who need care and hope. But we need help.
Not only do we need caring cat lovers to step up to the plate and provide loving homes for the latest additions to the feline population, but we also need caring foster homes to give small cats the opportunity to find their forever home. This network of caring individuals is a vital resource for the SPCA of Texas.
To that end, the SPCA is holding a special “Kitten Showers” event on Saturday, April 2 from 1-3:30 p.m. At this event, potential fosters will learn about the ins and outs of caring for kittens and giving them a healthy start on the road to a successful adoption. Bottle feeding, daily care, understanding behavior and a Q&A session will all be a part of the program.
Whether or not fostering is a possibility for you, donations are also highly appreciated. Wet kitten food, KMR (kitten formula), bottles for feeding and heating blankets are among the list of supplies that are always in demand. For a comprehensive and convenient wish list inventory, visit spca.org/kittenwish.
Finally, the event will be an opportunity to meet and greet with fellow cat lovers, the SPCA of Texas staff and a great excuse to visit the Jan Rees-Jones Animal Care Center (2400 Lone Star Dr., Dallas, TX 75212). Refreshments will be provided, and – based on availability – adorable kittens will be in attendance too.
