Alone and Scared No More, Because of You

Twenty dogs were found abandoned in a cluster of dilapidated structures on a rural property in Kaufman County. They were alone, scared and undernourished. Thanks to your support, these dogs were rescued by the SPCA of Texas Animal Cruelty Investigations team in the nick of time. They were suffering from severe malnutrition, dehydration, and a variety of infections and infestations.

Imagine for a moment what it must have been like to live in fear, exposed to the elements without reliable shelter or access to food or water. You’re forced to give birth in a rundown shed surrounded by loose insulation, dirt, and feces. When all you want is a moment to rest, the fleas attack every inch of your skin, causing you to suffer. And because no one was there to provide you with regular food, your bones are visible through your skin, it hurts to move, and you struggle to support your newborns with the nutrition they need to survive.
