SPCA of Texas Offers FREE Combination Pet Vaccines at Myron K. Martin Spay/Neuter & Veterinary Clinic
FREE with Purchase of Rabies Vaccines for Dogs and Cats through February 10, 2023
The SPCA of Texas will offer FREE “combination” vaccines—DHPPV for dogs and FVRCP for cats—with the purchase of a rabies vaccine for the animal. This offer will be valid at the Myron K. Martin Spay/Neuter & Veterinary Clinic (2400 Lone Star Dr., Dallas, TX 75212) through Friday, February 10, 2023.
“Vaccinations can be the number one defense against some very horrible—sometimes fatal—diseases in pets, including rabies and distemper in dogs and panleukopenia in cats,” said SPCA of Texas Chief Medical Officer Dr. Amber Alu. “Vaccinations are considered so important to pet health that they are regarded as a cornerstone of preventive care.”
Combination vaccines protect animals from more than one disease.
The DHPP canine vaccine is a “5 in 1” vaccination that prevents two types of hepatitis, distemper, parainfluenza and parvovirus. It is recommended that dogs receive the DHPP vaccine at 8, 12, and 16 weeks, one year later, and then one to three years after that.
FVRCP is a combination vaccine that protects cats from feline herpesvirus 1 and feline calicivirus which both cause upper respiratory tract disease. It is recommended for both indoor and outdoor cats as a core vaccine.
“In the past few years, the state of Texas has seen an increase in the spread of infectious disease, and it is important that we come together as a community to protect those animals and the people within our community,” Dr. Alu added.
