Carl came to us last September, from another shelter that needed help during Hurricane Harvey. He was underweight, had severe periodontal disease, a chronic ear infection and was excessively drinking and urinating. Doctors at the SPCA of Texas performed a full blood work panel and urinalysis that showed several severe abnormalities, including diabetes. Despite all of his physical abnormalities, Carl was a social, playful and happy cat. He was perfect for our Fospice Program, which helps animal that have chronic, possibly life-threatening diseases that still have a good quality of life.
