Calling all crafters! If you’re looking for a way to give back that utilizes one of your favorite pastimes, the SPCA of Texas Sewing Club might be for you!
A handy group of volunteers meet at the Jan Rees-Jones Animal Care Center in Dallas each week to work on sewing projects for our shelter animals, including cat beds and blankets. To learn more information about what goes on at sewing club, please email volunteer@spca.org.
Anyone can join the sewing club! All ages and skill levels are welcome – our experienced volunteers are more than happy to teach you everything you need to know about crafting, even if you’ve never done it before! Come learn how to sew and take home projects to practice with in your spare time. To sign up to volunteer with the SPCA of Texas, head to spca.org/volunteer.
Our cats are big fans of fleece, so if you have scrap pieces of fleece to donate or spot some on clearance at your local craft store, we’d greatly appreciate any donations! We’re already getting started on holiday beds, so holiday themed fleeces are our number one ask at the moment.
