Over the weekend, the SPCA of Texas had our first flight with the ASPCA and Wings of Rescue. Thanks to this collaborative effort, 22 dogs and cats from the SPCA of Texas, alongside 40 other pets from local shelters, are now looking for forever homes at partner shelters St. Hubert’s and Brandywine SPCA. These flights are part of a massive and collaborative effort that our team has been working on with the ASPCA, Wings of Rescue, St. Hubert’s Animal Welfare Center, and Brandywine Valley SPCA.
We’re excited about this ongoing partnership and very thankful to our partners. These flights from Texas to other parts of the country where there is a higher demand for adoptable animals will occur every few weeks and we couldn’t be more excited. We can’t wait to see adoption updates from our Texas pets living their best lives in Delaware and New Jersey!
We are immensely proud of our team – they tirelessly worked all night to help these dogs and cats get settled and prepared for their journey towards finding the homes they deserve! Arriving at the airport at 4 a.m. wasn’t easy, but it sure was worth it.
These transfer flights are so incredibly important because the SPCA of Texas, and many other shelters in Texas, are experiencing a large influx of animals. If you can foster, we need you! Sign up at spca.org/foster. If you’re looking for an animal to adopt, we have great news! We are currently offering $25 adoptions for all dogs and cats 6 months and older at our Dallas and Ellis County locations, as well as in foster. This special lasts all summer, but don’t wait – we have so many wonderful pets waiting to meet you! Visit spca.org/adopt to see them all.
