But our veterinarians and vet techs are strong beyond belief. They didn’t miss a beat: they got to work. Helping animals is their job, and they were going to do everything they could to save her life. So they named her the very thing they needed the most in that moment: Hope. 

A blood transfusion isn’t a sure thing, but it was worth a shot. The next morning, Hope greeted us with a few grateful licks, and our hope grew. A few days later, Hope was wobbling around the medical annex, and our hope grew. Hope’s skin began to show signs of healing, and then we felt certain, and our sweet little Hope grew. And continues to grow!

Hope is now a few months older and a whole lot healthier. In the photo above, Hope stands by the cable tether she was wearing the day she came in as a reminder to never give up. She’s been through a lot, but her future is better than ever, thanks to our generous donors, patient volunteers and dedicated staff.

Hope still has a journey ahead of her, but her rock star foster family is giving her a temporary place to call home. They are teaching her how to play with squeaky toys, taking her for walks around the neighborhood, and are giving her the love she deserves.
