Service Enterprise accreditation identifies organizations that integrate volunteers and their skills into their human capital strategy to achieve mission results. Accredited organizations are among the top 11 percent of nonprofits nationwide in volunteer management and organizational performance, and research shows a $3 to $6 return for every $1 invested in effective volunteer engagement.
“This recognition affirms how our volunteers are woven into every part of our work,” said Judith Dumont, vice president of people and culture at the SPCA of Texas. “Reaccreditation reflects our commitment to recruiting, training and supporting volunteers so we can create a brighter future for animals, people and the community.”
The SPCA of Texas completed a comprehensive diagnostic, coaching and evidence review with VQ Volunteer Strategies, the Service Enterprise Training and Implementation Partner. Reviewers praised the organization’s proactive recruiting, strong onboarding and training programs, volunteer supervision and communication practices, and systems that track participation and learn from exiting volunteers. They also noted that volunteers feel appreciated and that the SPCA of Texas dedicates multiple staff positions to volunteer engagement, contributing to retention and impact.
Service Enterprise is a national change-management program led by AL!VE with support from Points of Light and a network of training and implementation partners. Research shows that Service Enterprise accredited organizations are more adaptable, sustainable and capable of scaling their work to meet community needs.
