DALLAS – The SPCA of Texas announces that Justin Banta, a seasoned fundraiser with over 15 years of experience leading and growing development programs in Dallas and Atlanta, has been named Vice President of Development, effective April 15.
Most recently, Justin led the development team for the Callier Center for Communication Disorders at the University of Texas at Dallas, completing their $15M Callier Family Care Campaign.
Justin earned his B.S. Cum Laude from Baylor University and M.Div. from Princeton Theological Seminary. He serves on the board of the Human Rights Initiative of Texas where he has led as board President, chair of the development committee and chair of the executive director search committee.
As Vice President of Development, Banta will work closely with President & CEO Chris Luna, JD, and lead the development team in designing and implementing a comprehensive plan for developing key external alliances by cultivating individual, corporate and philanthropic support.
“Justin is a gifted professional who has a knack for connecting people with our mission,” said Luna. “As Vice President of Development, Justin will be a key leadership team member and an active participant in making strategic decisions affecting the SPCA of Texas.”

Justin lives in Plano with his wife, two kids, and their dog Bunny, an SPCA of Texas alum. When he can carve out a little bit of downtime Justin enjoys reading and cycling.
