Vanilla is a sensitive girl who’s struggling with the shelter environment. In her kennel, she’s showing moderate fear behaviors—her tail stays tucked, her ears are back, and she often retreats to the corner. She’s very avoidant right now, and when she feels overwhelmed or pressured, she may fear-bite, so staff have used gloves when gently moving her into a crate.
It’s important to know that these behaviors seem to be shelter-related. In her previous home, no concerning behaviors were reported—only the expected early fearfulness that many dogs show in a new environment.
Vanilla simply needs a calm, patient home where she can decompress and start to feel safe again. With time, understanding, and a quiet place to settle, she has every chance to come out of her shell.
If you can offer Vanilla the peace and patience she needs, she’s ready to start her path toward feeling secure again.
