Meet Ava, a beautiful, affectionate young pup who’s trying her very best—but shelter life is making things tough. Ava is incredibly sweet with people and truly wants to be a good girl, but the overstimulation of the shelter environment is overwhelming her. As a result, her stress can come out in jumpy, mouthy behavior, and her usual good manners start to slip away.
Ava is full of potential. She’s very trainable and already learning cues like “look at me,” showing that with a little time and consistency, she’s ready to thrive. Ava can get along with other dogs, too, though she can be a bit socially awkward—so she’d do best with well-socialized canine companions who can help guide her through polite doggy interactions. What Ava needs most right now is a calm, patient foster home where she can decompress and continue learning in a low-stress environment.
If you can foster Ava for a few days or more, please email FOSTER@SPCA.ORG today!
