Last year, the SPCA of Texas made the difficult decision to step back from holding Paws Cause 2020 in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. While there is hope on the horizon, we wanted to keep the momentum going for 2021 and make some adjustments to ensure we’re still keeping health and wellness in mind.

Rather than a festive event during this outbreak, we feel it is a better use of our staff and volunteers’ time to help more animals in need – especially those belonging to those suffering from illness and loss of work.

All of this comes at a cost – and this is why we are looking to you for help. Our community’s most vulnerable people and their pets still need your help, now more than ever!

To that end, we are announcing that Paws Cause 2021 is going virtual. On Saturday, February 20, 2021, we will host a drive-through, minimal contact goody bag pick-up (delivery to select donor levels) at the Jan Rees-Jones Animal Care Center at 2400 Lone Star Drive in Dallas from 1:00 P.M to 3:00 P.M.

We will thank our donors and sponsors online at pawscausedallas.com with a pre-recorded video and look to the time when we can be together again. 

Paws Cause 2021 is sure to be a tail-wagging success thanks to Chair Whitney Eichinger. Goody bags will including a bottle of bubbly, chocolate morsels, a special stemless flute emblazoned with the Paws Cause logo, a La Croix sparkling beverage and an SPCA of Texas bandana for the four-legged friend in your life, all in a custom goody bag provided by Tory Burch.

All proceeds from Paws Cause 2021 benefit the Southern Dallas Spay/Neuter and Wellness Initiative and the Mary Spencer Clinic at Village Fair, which both provide much-needed to care to pets in underserved areas, for free or at a low-cost that families can afford. These services bring pets and their people closer together and allow the SPCA of Texas to give back to the community.
