The award for “Best in Ears” goes to…Apollo! This handsome, charismatic, loving and silly boy came to SPCA of Texas as part of a cruelty case in February of 2019. He had a long journey to recovery, but with patience, love, and an awesome foster dad, Apollo has flourished into the goofy, loyal pup you see today!
His foster dad even created an Instagram account for Apollo to show off what a wonderful dog he is. Check it out!
He never forgets his friends. Once he’s your bud, he loves you forever. Apollo loves treats (even vegetables!), sunbathing, belly rubs, chasing squirrels, entertaining himself with toys, watching sports on TV, sleeping in all kinds of silly positions, and cuddling for nap time! He is also house trained, does well when left alone, is non-destructive, knows how to entertain himself, and is a generally quiet and chill dude!
Apollo is looking for a home where he can be the only pet in the home – he wants his family all to himself! Apollo’s home should have a private, securely fenced backyard. He do well with kids 13 and older, and he’d love to meet the whole family before he goes home.
He is one of the over 1,000 animals the SPCA of Texas is currently caring for, and the North Texas animal welfare agency is inviting the public to welcome a new family member with its “Pick Your Pet’s Adoption Fee” event through May 31. Through the end of the month, all adult animals (6 months and older) $0 to $25 to adopt at the SPCA of Texas’ Jan Rees-Jones Animal Care Center in Dallas, Ellis County Animal Care Center in Waxahachie and to adopt Foster pets.
Having double the animals the organization typically cares for this time of year means there’s hundreds more daily walks, medications, meals, and cuddles to provide. The SPCA of Texas asking people who are considering adopting or fostering to visit its shelters today. For more information on adopting and fostering, visit spca.org.
