As the SPCA of Texas increases efforts to improve the well-being of animals and their families in North Texas, our goal is to make a positive impact on the communities we serve.
One of the pillars of the SPCA of Texas is “Keep Animals in Their Homes.” To support this pillar, we work to make a positive community impact by providing various services and pet foods at no cost to families in need during difficult times.
Recently, the SPCA of Texas has been working with other local organizations to help families keep pets in their homes. Saturday, Dec. 10, 2022, we will pool resources with CUDDLY, Don’t Forget to Feed Me Pet Food Bank, Fort Worth Animal Care and Control, Rahr to the Rescue, and Saving Hope Animal Rescue to provide free pet food, vaccines, microchips, and more to pet families in Fort Worth.
Keeping pets in homes, where they already have families that love them, is a key component to preventing shelter over-crowding and the impact felt by the organizations that are faced with it. Despite the critical need, these events are not funded because of any government initiative—they are made possible entirely through the generosity of donors who care about pets and their families, and the organizations that believe this work is important.
Every item donated from this wish list will go into the hands of a pet family who needs support and to benefit a pet who wants nothing more than the family they already have and the comfort of a full bowl each day. Participating organizations hope to raise 40,000lbs of food from such individuals to ensure everyone who needs support receives it at “Fort Worth Pets Are Family,” which will be at the Bob Bolen Complex (505 W Felix St, Fort Worth, TX 76115) from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Please give if you can and help us make a difference for families in Texas.
