The SPCA of Texas is launching a 39,000-square-foot expansion that will double our capacity and transform North Texas into a model for holistic animal welfare.
We will expand our animal care programs’ scope by upgrading the veterinary & recovery center, adding behavioral wellness spaces, growing our surgery program, and streamlining adoptions in a welcoming adoption center where families meet their new best friends.
We will expand human services by increasing access to affordable veterinary care, offering financial assistance, and partnering with other nonprofits to help families stay together with their pets.
We will prevent and prosecute cruelty by strengthening our Animal Cruelty Investigations Unit and adding a modern forensic lab to support evidence collection and protect future victims, breaking the cycle of violence against animals and people.

SPCA of Texas will host an event Thursday to celebrate the new building expansion at its Dallas Animal Care Center.
The 39,000-square-foot expansion will add a building to the shelter’s West Dallas campus, doubling its capacity for care, according to the SPCA’s website. With this building expansion, the shelter will be able to perform “thousands more surgeries” and provide pets the “medical and behavioral support they need to find homes faster,” the SPCA said.
A 39,000-square-foot expansion of our Dallas campus with new medical suites, behavioral wellness spaces, a welcoming adoption center, and so much more.
It’s more than a building. It’s a promise to save more lives.
Construction is underway now, with doors expected to open in 2026.
By doubling our capacity for care, performing thousands more surgeries, and giving pets the medical and behavioral support they need to find homes faster.
