The SPCA of Texas partners with Greater Good Charities and the GOODS Program to become the North Texas only ambassador, sharing resources with animal welfare agencies across the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Thanks to this partnership, we’re able to bring more low-cost pet food and supplies to the area, allowing rescues and pantries to stretch their dollars further and impact even more pets and people.
If your organization is a 501c3 and based in North Texas, you may apply to receive pet food or supply donations from the SPCA of Texas. We accept applications from rescue groups, shelters and pet food pantries who have had their 501c3 status for more than one year.
If you wish to start the application process, you will be required to provide your IRS determination letter and be sure your group’s name appears in GuideStar. Thank you for understanding that we will only review applications once both criteria are satisfied.

Food and supplies are donated by the truckload from gracious donors, shipped to our partner warehouse and later distributed to qualified recipients for a minimal handling fee.
An organization that has a valid, non-revoked IRS Determination Letter establishing their 501(c)(3) status can apply for pet food on this website. A group applying under a Group Exemption or using an alternate name (for example “Doing business as…”) must submit the relevant documents as described by the IRS or state/local authorities.
Groups apply through this website to become a grant recipient. Your application will be screened for criteria such as non-profit status, spay/neuter policy, adoption pages, and distance from our location. Applications passing this step are evaluated further and accepts qualifying applications.
Groups meeting the criteria are placed in the rotation for distributions.
When food is available, the SPCA of Texas coordinates with groups regarding the type of food and offers the group the opportunity to participate.
Participating groups send in their latest census counts and the SPCA of Texas determines an equitable distribution of the food, taking into account factors such as the number and size of animals, whether any group received food more recently than another one, distance traveled, or special circumstances like large food donations from other sources.
The SPCA of Texas notifies each group of the amount allocated, the place and time for pickup, and the amount of handling fees.
Please note that as a grant program, we cannot guarantee that food will always be supplied to any one organization or that a grant will meet all of the organization’s needs for any period of time.
