If you’re anything like us, you’ll be spending the chilly fall days curled up on the couch with your furry best friend. But when the weather’s nice, here are some great ways to take advantage of a break in the rain – with or without your pup!
This one is fun for the whole family AND healthy for your pup! The SPCA of Texas will be providing FREE vaccinations at the Balch Springs Animal Shelter on Saturday, November 3rd at the Pawsitively Fall Family Community Event. Bring your pup (or cat) to receive free rabies and DHPP/FVRCP vaccines for your pet and then enjoy a day of fun activities with the kids. Bounce houses, face painting, pie throwing – everything you could want at a fall festival will be available at this event. You can also purchase nail trims for $5 or microchips for $10.

Get your downward dog on with some doggone cute puppies! Come out and support the Humane Society of North Texas with Puppy Yoga at Texas Live! The Arlington Yoga Center will also be holding a raffle to win a free month of yoga classes.

Okay, so this one is more of a human event, but we figured we’d include it for animal lovers looking to support humane legislation in this upcoming election. 100% of proceeds from this non-partisan event will go to the Texas Humane Legislation Network, a 501(c)4 organization that lobbies for animal welfare laws. If animal welfare is important to you, take a look at this list of candidates on both sides of the aisle that have a proven record of supporting animal-friendly legislation!
