The Mary Spencer Spay/Neuter and Wellness Clinic at Village Fair is one of several options the SPCA of Texas provides in delivering low-cost spay/neuter and wellness services for the southern Dallas community. Our clinic team works to ensure that all of our clients can trust that the SPCA of Texas clinic team will be transparent, compassionate and professional, giving all four-legged family members the same exceptional care. Financial obstacles will always be there, but the Village Fair Clinic aims to ease some of that stress for pet owners in southern Dallas.

Recently, we sent a survey out to our Village Fair clinic staff, and almost every respondent mentioned how much it meant to them that they were making an impact on the southern Dallas community and creating relationships with clients. Here are just a few more of the survey questions they answered, along with their responses!

What is your favorite part of your job?

“The most rewarding aspect of my position is knowing that we have provided the same care that a for-profit location can. We maximize what the client afford, instead of maximizing our bottom line.”

“Helping the owners that can’t afford to financially care for their pets. They are so grateful!”

What makes the Village Fair Clinic so special?

“Village Fair has an amazing rapport with their clientele, and it’s almost multi-generational at this point!”

“Our long-time clients are like extended family. Numerous clients do not even need to state their purpose. We can spot them in the parking lot and have their paperwork and products ready as they walk in the door.”

“The Village Fair clinic caters to the less fortunate. We are in a demographic where financial restraints are prominent. We as a clinic make sure that the needs of both people and pets are met.”

“We function like a family practice. We know our clients and their pets by name. We pride ourselves on educating our clients and assisting them with resources and sample products.”

How is the Southern Dallas Initiative helping animals and the community?

“It is helping to reduce the overall population of unwanted offspring, thereby reducing the number of strays/ferals and shelter surrenders. It also helps the health of those animals altered by removing the possibility of them succumbing to maladies associated with reproductive issues and introducing them to a proper vaccine protocol.”

“The Southern Dallas Initiative is helping our animal community by opening the doors to their owners to be able to provide any healthcare to them. A vast majority of our community WANTS to care for their pets properly, but cannot afford any or all of it.”

How does donor support help our Village Fair Clinic, Southern Dallas Initiative, and the animals in our community?

“Donor support enables us to offer programs which enrich the lives of the patients and their people through the services rendered and the knowledge of proper animal care that we try to impart on our clients.”

“With donor support, we are able to help pets whose owners have limited funds. We have saved several lives by being able to offer surgical services. None of these lives would have been saved without generous donor support. Thank you for helping us save them!”
