This year, North Texas Giving Day falls on our 84th birthday! We could not think of a better way to celebrate than joining together with you to help animals in need throughout our community. Your gift will go further when you donate September 1-22 for this giving extravaganza – and you make a difference in the lives of thousands of animals!
Fueled by community support, the SPCA of Texas helps animals in need while strengthening the bond between pets and people. We operate three animal shelters, two veterinary clinics, two mobile veterinary clinics, an equine and livestock center and an animal rescue center, all located in Dallas, Collin and Ellis Counties. We also maintain an Animal Cruelty Investigations Unit that responds to thousands of calls in multiple North Texas counties.
YOUR support makes our critical work possible. Because of you, we helped 559 pets in July through the Russell H. Perry Pet Resource Center. Because of you, our Animal Cruelty Investigations team rescued 34 animals from abuse in July. Because of you, we spayed or neutered 627 animals at our Mary Spencer Spay/Neuter and Veterinary Care Clinic at Village Fair in July. Because of you, we found loving homes for 261 animals in July.
Right now, the grim realities of inflation continue to affect families across North Texas – and the SPCA of Texas is feeling it, too. The costs to care for each animal, including food, medical supplies, medicine, and toys, have increased enormously. But because of YOU and your support, we can be there for animals, whether they’re in our care or in your neighborhood.
“Caring for our animals never stops, and our dedicated staff and volunteers are here every day, tending to all the animals,” said Karen Froehlich, President and CEO of the SPCA of Texas. “The Animal Cruelty Investigations Unit actively responds to abuse and neglect cases, rescuing those animals to give them a second chance at a better life.”
“Our Russell H. Perry Pet Resource Center and outreach teams support the community by distributing food and offering emergency medical support so that families may keep their pets in their homes, out of shelters and off the streets. Together, we provide the highest quality care for animals in need throughout North Texas . . . and that work is only possible because of donors like you.”
The SPCA of Texas offers a range of programs to support your community and your pets. From pet adoption, fostering and volunteer opportunities clinics focused on delivering affordable and accessible basic veterinary services to pet owners who otherwise may not be able to provide this care for their pets, the SPCA of Texas is here for the community and the animals it loves.
The SPCA of Texas is not affiliated with any other humane organization and we do not receive general operating funds from the City of Dallas, State of Texas, or federal government. We are local and supported by North Texans. All money donated to the SPCA of Texas stays in North Texas to help our local community.
“Through your support, you are helping our community’s most vulnerable animals receive the care, medical attention and resources they need to live a happy life – no matter what is going on in the world around us,” Froehlich adds. “As a donor, you also ensure that the animals at the SPCA of Texas will always have the care they need while they find their forever homes, regardless of how long it takes. Together, we can make North Texas a kinder, safer, more humane community … and that is why we need your support today.”
You can be a part of this vision with a gift to the SPCA of Texas during North Texas Giving Day. Our birthday is on the same day as this giving extravaganza, and we couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate than by helping dogs and cats find their fur-ever homes. Mark your calendars to give during #NTxGivingDay from September 1-22 or learn more about all the ways you can support at spca.org/ntgd.
