Thanks to our January Group Experience Participants!

Each month we have several corporate groups that come to the SPCA of Texas for a Group Experience. The day includes a group volunteer project, tours of our facilities and meet and greets with our animals. In January, we were pleased to host Falcon Insurance Group and the Southwest Airlines Hospitality Operations Support Team!

Falcon Insurance sent their team in two groups, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Both groups made snuffle mats and donated the materials needed to make them! Snuffle mats are fantastic enrichment items for our dogs. We hide some kibble or small treats in the folds of these mats and the dogs have to use their noses and paws to dig them out! Enrichment items like snuffle mats help keep our dogs from getting bored when they aren’t being walked or taken out to the play yards.

The Southwest Airlines team made fast friends with all of our staff when they showed up to our Russell E. Dealey Animal Rescue Center with donuts! Their Hospitality Operations Support Team assembled crates for our Animal Cruelty Investigations unit.

With animal cruelty reports coming in daily, pre-assembled crates can save our investigators and response team crucial time in emergency situations. This seemingly simple task makes such a huge difference for our operations.
